Set it on a level, solid surface, fill the bowl and reservoir, and plug it in. One person can manage 25.46 pounds, though it is easier with two. Check that it sits flat before switching it on, because a sphere out of level sheets water down one side instead of all around.

Run the cord along a bed edge or a wall rather than across a path. Gravel, river stone, and paving all suit it. Soft ground does not, since the weight will settle it out of level over a season.

Water level and daily care

The reservoir holds 0.7 gallons, so evaporation takes a visible bite in summer. Check it every day or two in hot weather and keep enough water to cover the pump at all times. Wipe the concrete with a dry cloth when it needs it.

Winter and freezing weather

Is this actually concrete, or concrete look resin?

Where does it look right?

Zen and gravel gardens, bamboo screening, river stone beds, clean modern paving, and entry steps where you want something quiet rather than something decorative. It also works next to a concrete bird bath or planter, since the materials age at the same rate. It does not work in a cottage border full of flowers.

Will it hold the middle of a yard?

No. At just over two feet it is built for close range beside a path, a step, or a seating area. On an open lawn it will look small. For a centerpiece, choose a taller tiered concrete fountain instead.
