Michael is highly inspired by his surroundings and often makes sculptures of objects that might otherwise be overlooked in the everyday. Nature is his biggest muse, as is the handmade process.

The Wildflowers Collection is a celebration of often overlooked, disregarded, and underappreciated flowers. The inspiration for Wildflowers came from the discovery of a set of 19th century hand-tinted, botanical illustrations which, over time, had faded to muted, dusty tones. Touched by how beautifully each wildflower had been rendered in the antique drawings, Aram took great care to capture and recreate the naturalistic movement and gentle hues in hand-enameled and sculpted metal. Uncultivated by definition, wildflowers, as interpreted by Aram, reflect the ideal of "perfectly imperfect" and capture a sense of carefree innocence in the fleeting joyfulness of nature.

"I treasure the delicate colors and spontaneous, random shapes of wildflowers I discover while walking on untended and overgrown fields and pathways. The twists and turns in each petal and the joyful sense of their random color palette feels almost childlike. I hope this collection brings a smile to your face the same way it does to mine." - M.
