Amethyst is one of the most beautiful materials found on Earth. Produced in volcanic rock cavities with deposits of silica, its purple color comes from trace amounts of iron reacting to irradiation. 

The Greeks used amethyst for protection against drunkenness, out of all things! Until the XVIII Century, it was part of the cardinal stones. Due to its scarcity, deposits were found in Brazil, decreasing its value considerably. Today, it is considered a semiprecious stone. We picked this stone to create our elegant Amethyst Riser Tray.
