Setup, Care, and Warranty
Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. Set it level, since an orb in a tilted seat will not turn evenly and can stall against one side.
Put a coaster or mat underneath. Any tabletop fountain throws fine spray, which shows on untreated wood over months.
If the orb stops turning
Usually one of three things. The water level has dropped and the pump is not delivering enough flow. The flow is set too low. Or debris has collected in the seat beneath the ball. Top up, raise the flow, and lift the orb out to rinse the seat.
Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. The reservoir on a piece this size is small and drops within days, so check often rather than weekly.
Use filtered or distilled water in hard water areas. Mineral film clouds a glass orb faster than it marks stone, and a clouded ball loses the effect you bought.
Cleaning
Lift the orb out and wipe it with a soft cloth regularly. Rinse the pump every few months, since small pumps clog sooner than large ones. Keep harsh liquid cleaners off the slate finish.

How is it different from the smaller orb fountain?
Two things. This one is larger at 9.8 inches, and its orb is lit from within so you get a single glowing sphere. The 8.3 inch version has a clear crystal textured ball and a colour changing LED that cycles through tones. Choose this for the glowing ball and that one for the smaller footprint and shifting colour.
Does the orb need a motor?
No. Water from the pump passes beneath it and the flow alone turns it. There is no motor, no separate power for the rotation, and no mechanical noise.
Where does it fit?
A desk, a shelf, a bedside table, a console. The 8 inch base is about the area of a small plate. The light grey slate reads against most backgrounds, so it is easier to place than the darker rock designs.
Is it safe around children and pets?
The orb is glass and lifts out, so keep it away from small children and note that it will break on a hard floor. Keep the fountain back from table edges and out of reach of cats. Run the cord where it cannot be pulled. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.
