Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. A defined stream from a spout loses more to wind drift than water running down a surface, so check every few days in warm weather.
Keep the tap spout clear. A blockage there is obvious immediately, since the stream that should reach the basin goes elsewhere.
Looking after the painted finish
