Setup and placement

Set it level and face the split toward where people sit or pass. From behind or the side you see a plain trunk, and the whole point of the piece is the opening.
Wind and stability

Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. The interior pools are small and the base is narrow, so the level drops faster than on a wide fountain. Check every few days in warm weather.
Clear debris from the interior pools. A blockage inside the trunk is harder to spot than one on an open ledge, so look into the split rather than just listening.
Winter storage
